The Marvelous Magic of Bathroom Mirrors – A Realistic Reflection of Your Bathroom Design Décor!

Can you handle the truth? The plain truth and nothing but the lucid truth reflected flawlessly right in front of your very own eyes. If a picture is worth a thousand words, then let me paint a clear picture for you, bathroom mirrors aren’t just another pretty facade in your bathroom. Not only do mirrors reflect your gorgeous smiling face as they greet you in the morning, they also magnify the light in your bathroom as well as amplify the feeling and your perception of space, you can even say they are multifaceted miracles of magnification and reflection.

When planning your bathroom layout, careful consideration must be taken when incorporating mirrors. While a small medicine cabinet mirror will have a modest effect on your overall bathroom design, a larger more expansive mirror will ultimately change your bathrooms entire appearance. The good thing about this is, you can buy mirrors at standard sizes from any home building merchant but you can also get them cut to any dimension to accommodate your needs from a professional glass supplier who will more than likely be able to install them for you.

The type of mirror you purchase will depend upon whether it is used in the bathing, grooming or dressing areas of your bathroom. A full length mirror is great for dressing areas, whereas a triptych (three sided mirror) is perfect within the grooming area because you can easily adjust the two swinging hinged sections to view yourself from various angles. Even though mirrors will double the luminance in your bathroom, it is important to consider the proper angles of your lighting fixtures to take full advantage of the reflection. Also remember to mount your mirrors at a convenient height for everyone’s ease of use. You may even think about getting a specialized magnifying mirror to aid with your grooming tasks which can be mounted on the walls or on the counter top.

Mirrors can be used to strategically expand the optical appearance of open space within your bathroom. This is great if your bathroom is small or long and narrow because if the whole wall is covered in the mirror, it makes the bathroom appear two times as big to double your pleasure. If you are really daring and you like the whole fun house effect, then mount mirrors on opposite walls, which creates a tunneling effect going on to eternity. This can be fun for the kids but might prove distracting and unsettling to others on a day to day basis, so practice restraint here and use common sense. If you don’t want to cover your whole wall in mirrors but still want the expansive effect, you can just mount the mirrors above the height of the vanity counter along the wall. The best alternative plan here is to use a large mirror at right angles to the bathroom entrance and line it up with the top of a door or window sill to create design flow. It’s always a good idea to take on site measurements before getting your glass supplier to cut your mirror to ensure proper fit within the design features of your bathroom.

So bathroom mirrors not only provide aesthetic beauty to your bathroom décor through decorative trimmings and edges but also prove to have functional value as well by expanding the perceived scope of your bathroom and filling it with reflected luminance from your strategically placed lights and windows. Plan carefully and just remember beauty is in the eye of the beholder, so it is ultimately up to you how to use the marvelous magic of mirrors.
