The bathroom can often prove to be the trickiest room of the house to clean, and increasingly more people have good reasons for turning to a steam cleaner to keep a clean and healthy environment where it most matters. This is a very delicate room for what concerns hygiene, as often the skin, for instance when you shower, is the only barrier between you and the surrounding area.
The problem with traditional cleaning methods lies in their re-usability, as they usually are not substituted as frequently as they should. This will inevitably result in the accumulation of germs on mops or sponges, helped by their dampness and the hardly noticeable layer of dirt forming upon them.
Dirt also easily accumulates at the bottom of buckets which, while looking clean in front of the naked eye, represent a perfect shelter for many germs, especially when the water in them is lukewarm and its temperature helps their reproduction.
Chemical disinfectants will often do the job when cleaning your house, but there’s secondary effects that come with them and pose significant threats to your health. On the other hand, scientific tests have shown that pathogens commonly lying on surfaces can be killed within five seconds by a steam cleaner. The heat of the steam is also lethal for molds, fungus and bacteria, whose cells are disintegrated.
Steam cleaners thus dry, clean, disinfect and even sterilize the surfaces, making the bathroom a more hygienic environment.
More specifically, in the bathrooms where floors are covered with carpets, the acari hiding on these often damp surfaces will be swept away by the high temperatures and pressure of the steam cleaner.
It’s also in the shower, with its accumulations of humidity which help the proliferation of moulds, especially in the corners, that the steam cleaner will allow you to finally see those black patches go away for ever.
Safe and Reliable
These machines produce a steam with temperatures that can reach 155 °C, well past boiling point. Most modern steam cleaners also produce a low moisture steam, with 4 to 6 per cent of water, meaning that there’s no risk of leaving the surface wet after the cleaning process. Soon after the steam comes out of the machine, its temperature breaks and separates the dirt, while the pressure removes it from the surface.
The versatility of these machines also makes them a beneficial investment for the whole house, as it easily allows you to clean the most varied surfaces of your house, such as carpets, floors, the hobs and even mattresses and radiators. If you have kids in your family, this is definitely the go-to option for cleaning properly their rooms.
It’s also no mystery that the management of major buildings where great numbers of people are hosted, such as hospitals and schools, are greatly concerned with hygiene and cleanliness.
These institutions, over the past few years, have increasingly more often recurred to these instruments, which they consider really safe and reliable cleaning tools.
But, surely, the most striking benefits that come with steam cleaners are those relating to their incredibly low environmental impact, which make them a real green machine. No chemical will ever be as natural, inexpensive and easily available as crystallized hot water is.
If we are to start changing our habits and try to start from the little things of everyday life, we believe that resorting to this kind of cleaners instead of traditional and highly detrimental chemicals used for disinfection would be a change for the better.
This is a choice that also allows us to save a lot of time and money, precious resources that most of you would never want to consume while cleaning your house.
