L & K Plumbing & Heating Ltd. on Ventilating Your Home

Most people would agree that heating and cooling systems are two important factors for those looking to purchase a new home and are an integral part of having a comfortable indoor living environment. Down at the Calgary Home and Interior Design Show I was looking for someone to explain to me the importance of ventilation in your home and ultimately your bathroom. It was at this point that I came across L & K Plumbing & Heating Ltd. a full service plumbing and heating contractor dedicated to complete home comfort by maintaining just the right temperature and sustaining good quality indoor air in your residence. After talking to the owner Larry Resko, I soon found out that his company which has been around since 1987 was one of the first Bryant Factory Authorized Dealers in Alberta and also one of the first to be NATE (North American Technician Excellence, Inc.) certified.

In your home, a Bryant central heating and cooling system produces warm or cool air in one central area and then re-distributes it throughout your abode. If you are unfamiliar with Bryant products, they are an industry leader and have been excelling in the heating and cooling industries since 1904. People usually associate plumbers with only plumbing but some are also certified in the (HVAC/R) industry which stands for heating, ventilation, air-conditioning, and refrigeration. These are the primary functions of a homes heating and cooling system. They not only control the air temperature and humidity but also maintain the quality of the air in your home.

As explained to me by Larry of L & K Plumbing & Heating, the problem with today’s well insulated homes is that the air quickly becomes stale and dusty because the same air is circulated and re-circulated through out your tightly-sealed residence. This can eventually become a health concern if the air inside your home becomes dirtier than the air outside due to mold, dust, skin flakes, pollen, smoke, VOCs (chemical fumes), and even pet dander. Different times of the year can also add to the problem with increased humidity, pollen or other pollutants in the air. Fortunately, Bryant, the manufacturer of dependable air quality products has a wide range of solutions, including humidifiers, ventilators, UV lamps, air purifiers, and electronic air cleaners which can help to eliminate a large percentage of the pollutants in your home’s environment, making your habitat a safer place to live and breathe. There are even a Bryant Duct-Free Split Systems which you can add to individual rooms that sits unobtrusively on the wall to control and direct the airflow.

Using a Bryant ventilator brings fresh air into your home all year round without losing energy. There are two types: 1) Bryant Energy Recovery Ventilators bring fresh prefiltered outdoor air into your home throughout the longer cooling season which creates fewer pollutants and reduces humidity and 2) Bryant Heat Recovery Ventilators keep your homes air warm and clean during longer heating seasons, these sophisticated home comfort systems forces stale air and contaminants out of your dwelling ensuring optimum comfort and air quality in your home.
